There are several options to celebrating Mother’s Day in Nevada County this Sunday. Many local restaurants will host special breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner to honor moms across the community.

59th annual Mother’s Day Scotch Broom Breakfast — 8 a.m. at the North San Juan Firehall and Community Center, 29190 State Hwy 49, North San Juan. Should be a beautiful morning for a Sunday drive up to NSJ, where from 8 a.m.-noon, you’ll enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes (gluten free available), hame & eggs, coffee & juice. Adults $10. Children (under 12) $5.
Who knows? Mom just might walk away with a the grand raffle prize, “a unique, full-size quilt designed by renowned master quilter Mary Moore. Raffle tickets $1 or 6 for $5. All proceeds to benefit the NSJ Volunteer Fire Department.
Mother’s Day Brunch at Alta Sierra Country Club — 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the club, 11897 Tammy Way, Grass Valley. The buffet menu includes a tri-tip lunch and a bacon & sausage breakfast, along with French toast, several salad choices and assorted desserts. Mom will enjoy a free Mimosa. Open to the public, the buffet brunch is $50 for members, $55 for non-members, children 4-12 $20 and kids 3-and-under eat free. Make your reservation at 530-273-2041.
Runnin’ 4 Cover at Cork 49 — 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Cork 49, 142 Mill St., Grass Valley. Toast Mother’s Day with bottomless mimosas and small bites for $30. A Sunday stroll through the revamped Mill Street downtown, enjoy the day with high-energy, classic rock and country tunes from Runnin’ 4 Cover.
High Tea Mother’s Day Brunch — 1-3 p.m. at GratiDude Ranch, 18394 Lazy Dog Rd, Nevada City. Enjoy an experience crafted by The Plant Power Chef, Leigh Anne Marshall. Families are invited to enjoy a tour of GratiDude Ranch and a beautiful afternoon of sweet and savory bites. All children will get to enjoy planting something of their own to take home with them. Families will be given an opportunity to visit a neighboring petting zoo with horses, a goat, chickens and a donkey.
Sip n’ Succ – Mother’s Day, Tea and Me — 2 p.m. at New Life Nursery, 17115 Penn Valley Dr., Penn Valley — Enjoy an afternoon of “ladyship” in the garden with “linens and lace, finger sandwiches, crumpets and sipping on sweet tea.” Attendees will plant a demure antique tea cup with a variety of succulents to keep, or gift to your favorite mom. Wear your Sunday best —and don your finest chapeau. Invite moms, sisters, friends and well behaved daughters (8 and up). Class size is limited. Reservations $39.
